A total of 891 student-athletes have been honored by the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference with selection to the league’s 2022 Winter/Spring All-Academic Team that was released earlier today by Commissioner Angela Baumann.

Eight student-athletes from the MASCAC have been selected to the 2022 ABCA/Rawlings Division III All-Region Two Team.

Scott Emerson, Matthew Seavey and Jay Wladkowski of Bridgewater State, Brodey Tinkham of Massachusetts Maritime and Jake Boucher of Salem State were named to the d3baseball.com All-Region Two teams as announced by the organization.

The Bridgewater State University baseball team will begin NCAA Division III Tournament play on Friday, May 20th as the Bears will compete at a four-team regional hosted by SUNY Cortland in Cortland, New York. The Bears are the number four seed in the regional and will take on top-seeded Cortland.

The Bridgewater State University baseball team captured its sixth Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Tournament title and first since 2012 as the top-seeded Bears downed #3 seed Massachusetts Maritime Academy, 7-4, in the championship round of the 2022 MASCAC Tournament on Saturday afternoon at Alumni Park.

On Saturday morning, the Buccaneers took the field against Salem State in the MASCAC semifinals losers bracket in Bridgewater with the winner moving on to play the top-seeded Bears in the Conference Championship at 3 pm. Behind a strong pitching performance by Sam Huffman, Brady Parks, and Brenden Baiardi Maritime pulled off the win 6-3.

After defeating Mass. Maritime on Friday, top seed Bridgewater State advanced to the championship round of the MASCAC Baseball Tournament. Third seed Mass. Maritime and fifth seed Salem State to meet for a spot in the tournament in elimination game Saturday.
