On Sunday, March 2, the excitement was evident in the smiles on everyone's faces as the MASCAC Student-Athlete Advisory Committee came together at Worcester State for a Special Olympics basketball clinic.

The Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Student-Athlete Advisory Committee hosted a speaker to discuss the various areas surrounding mental health at their Annual Meeting on Sunday, December 3 at Worcester State.

One of the main tenants of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee or SAAC is to encourage community outreach. During the MASCAC SAAC project on Sunday, April 16 to cap off DIII Week, the group came together in an amazing way to give back to all eight communities around their institutions.

The Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Presidents announced today a return to fall sports competition during the fall 2021 sports season. This includes the sports of men’s and women’s cross country, field hockey, football, men’s golf, men’s and women’s soccer and volleyball.

As part of the MASCAC's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) Annual Meeting on December 6, the group hosted Ivy Watts as a speaker to discuss mental health and racial issues affecting student-athletes.

During D3 Week April 13-19, the MASCAC held a remote Yards for Yeardley event to bring awareness to the One Love Foundation and its mission of relationship education and awareness for signs of domestic violence.

Throughout Division III Week April 13-19, the MASCAC will be hosting a remote Yards for Yeardley event to show support for the One Love Foundation.

At the annual meeting of the MASCAC Student-Athlete Advisory Committee on December 8, the group took part in the One Love Foundation training.

During the December Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) meeting, the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference and Little East Conference hosted a joint speaker to discuss the topic of career preparedness.

The Framingham State softball program signed 13 year old Lindsey Franco from Holliston, Mass. in partnership with Team IMPACT Friday afternoon on the FSU campus. Franco signed a letter of intent to join the Rams softball program and plans on joining the team during games, practices and other team events throughout the year.

The MCLA Athletics Department held their annual National Girls and Women in Sports Day celebration on Saturday prior to the MASCAC basketball season finale. The Athletics department welcomed both adults and young girls to campus to participate in this year's popular event. This year's theme was "Play Fair, Play IX".

For the last several years, the Massachusetts Maritime Student-Athlete Advisory Committee has been collecting toys for Children's Cove. This year, they were able to collect 650 toys for the organization.

The Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Student-Athlete Advisory Committee hosted a social media speaker at their Annual Meeting on Sunday, December 3 at Worcester State.

The MCLA women's basketball program was in the giving mood last week. The Trailblazers participated in the "Adopt a Family" program run by the Department of Children and Families (DCF). The Trailblazer players were each assigned a child and were responsible for gathering the gifts prior to the upcoming holiday.

The construction materials for each bed included a bag of bolts, a brief orientation, and the name of a child: Tara. Landon. Amie. The first bed, finished with a fresh coat of white paint, was built for a 12 year old named Grace, who lives with her family in Marlborough.

Massachusetts Maritime junior softball standout Emily Goodwin has been appointed to the NCAA Division III National Student-Athlete Advisory Committee as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference’s representative. The announcement was made by the NCAA and MASCAC Commissioner Angela Baumann last week.
