During D3 Week April 13-19, the MASCAC held a remote Yards for Yeardley event to bring awareness to the One Love Foundation and its mission of relationship education and awareness for signs of domestic violence.
Throughout the week long campaign, the eight institutions and their student-athletes, staff, administrators, friends and family collected 2,629,835 yards from events ranging from runs to biking and everything in between. Westfield State collected the most yards with 1,371,342 with many coming from the Owls' cross country and track and field squads. Bridgewater State was in second with 682,935 yards. Several women's lacrosse teams are completing their own Yards for Yeardley campaigns throughout the spring semester too.
In its 10th year, the Yards for Yeardley campaign sets out to not only bring awareness to the foundation and its mission but to get people moving as Yeardley did during her time as a women's lacrosse student-athlete at the University of Virginia.
