2024 MASCAC Field Hockey News

A total of 1,610 student-athletes have been honored by the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference with selection to the league’s Fall/Winter 2024 All-Academic team that was released earlier today by Commissioner Angela Baumann.

60 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) student-athletes have been recognized for their outstanding sportsmanship as members of the 2024 Fall Sportsmanship Team.

After the end of the fall regular season, Westfield State has the lead in the 2024-25 Howard C. Smith Cup standings. The Smith Cup is awarded annually to the member institution which compiles the most points based on the placement of each of its programs competing in the league championship sports.

Sophia Yates of Fitchburg State and Angelina Serra of Framingham State have earned the 2024 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Field Hockey Offensive and Defensive Player of the Year honors and headline the 2024 MASCAC First Team All-Conference squad which is voted on by the coaches from around the conference prior to the conference tournament.

Abby Lane and Emma Gniadek of Westfield State with Samantha Souza of Bridgewater State take home the MASCAC Field Hockey Offensive, Defensive and Rookie of the Week honors.

Westfield State junior forward Kaleigh Murphy scored the game winning goal with 4:20 left in regulation to lift the Owls to the the 2024 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference title with a 2-1 win over Bridgewater State on Saturday afternoon at Alumni Field.

After winning their thrilling games on Thursday night, Bridgewater State and Westfield State are set to meet in the MASCAC Field Hockey title game on Saturday.

After winning their first round games on Tuesday, Bridgewater State and Worcester State are headed to the semifinal round of the MASCAC Field Hockey Tournament.

After earning their first regular season title since coming under the MASCAC name, Fitchburg State grabbed the top seed in the 2024 MASCAC Field Hockey Tournament which begins on Tuesday with first round action.

After a solid week of play, the Framingham State trio of Angelina Serra, Marina Cadena and Finley Hogan are the MASCAC Field Hockey Offensive, Defensive and Rookie of the Week honorees.

The Bridgewater State duo of Samantha Souza and Brianna Gagnon earn the MASCAC Field Hockey Offensive, Rookie and Defensive Player of the Week honors.

Olivia Narkevicius of Fitchburg State and Natayla Morin of Worcester State are MASCAC Field Hockey Offensive Player of the Week while Jenna Morse and Isabella Corcoran of Fitchburg State are the Defensive and Rookie of the Week honorees.

Erin Lane of Westfield State and Jenna Morse and Samantha Jones of Fitchburg State claim the MASCAC Field Hockey Offensive, Defensive and Rookie of the Week accolades.
