MASCAC Field Hockey Weekly Awards 11/11
Abby Lane and Emma Gniadek of Westfield State with Samantha Souza of Bridgewater State take home the MASCAC Field Hockey Offensive, Defensive and Rookie of the Week honors.
Offensive Player of the Week |
Clark picked up an assist on the Owls game-winning goal in a 1-0 win over Worcester State, but it’s what doesn’t show up on the stat sheet that led to her selection as the MVP of the MASCAC Tourney, with end-to-end hustle and leadership that helped Westfield capture the 2024 MASCAC crown. |
Defensive Player of the Week |
Gniadek finished with 12 saves, a 0.50 GAA and .923 save percentage as she backstopped the Owls to the 2024 MASCAC title with a 10 save shutout in the 1-0 win over Worcester State in the semifinals and needed to make just a pair of saves as Westfield topped Bridgewater State, 2-1 in the title game. |
Rookie of the Week |
Souza scored a pair of goals, including the game-winner, in the Bears’ 4-1 MASCAC Tournament quarterfinal round victory over Framingham State. Weekly Report 11/11 |
