The Bridgewater State duo of Scott Emerson and Matt Josselyn earn the MASCAC Baseball Player, Rookie and Pitcher of the Week honors after leading the Bears to the MASCAC Tournament title.

Emerson batted .455 (5-11) with four runs scored and one RBI in three games during the MASCAC Tournament. Was also hit by a pitch twice and recorded a sacrifice bunt as he posted a .538 on base percentage. Helped the Bears go 3-0 at the tournament as the Bears’ captured their first conference title since 2012 and sixth overall. Went 2-for-3 with a hit by pitch and run scored in a 3-0 quarterfinal round win over Salem State, and 3-for-5 with two runs and an RBI in a 14-7 semifinal round victory over Mass. Maritime. Also laid down a sacrifice bunt, was hit by a pitch and scored a run in the Bears’ 7-4 championship game win over the Buccaneers. |

Josselyn, the MASCAC Tournament MVP, tossed a complete game, two-hit shutout in the Bears’ 3-0 victory over Salem State in the quarterfinal round of the conference tournament. Walked just one batter and fanned six as he recorded his MASCAC-leading fourth shutout of the season. |
