The Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Council of Presidents and Commissioner Angela Baumann announce the acceptance of Plymouth State University and UMass Dartmouth applications as football affiliate members beginning in the fall of 2025.

UMass Dartmouth Falls to Western New England in New England Football Bowl
Powered by a strong second-half effort, Western New England University defeated UMass Dartmouth in New England Bowl Series action at Golden Bear Stadium on Saturday afternoon. WNE concludes its season with an 8-3 overall mark, while the Corsairs conclude their outstanding season with a 9-2 record and their second New England Bowl appearance in the last three years.

WestConn Football Closes 2023 Season With First Round Setback At Johns Hopkins
The visiting Western Connecticut State University Wolves closed out its historic 2023 season with a 62-20 loss to the Johns Hopkins University Blue Jays in the opening round of the NCAA Division III Football Championship Tournament at Homewood Field this afternoon. WestConn, making its fourth appearance in the NCAA Tournament and its first since 2001, finishes with a 7-3 record with its first loss in seven games. The No. 7-ranked Blue Jays improve to 11-0 and will face Union College in the NCAA Second Round next weekend. Freshman WR Dae'Shawn Allen had seven catches for 259 yards and two touchdowns for the Wolves.

Westfield State senior running back Jordan Smith (Coventry, Conn.) has been chosen as the Gold Helmet winner by the New England Football Writers as presented by the Jack Grinold/Eastern Massachusetts Chapter of the National Football Foundation for his record-setting performance this weekend in the Owls 49-0 win over Fitchburg State University.
