MASCAC Volleyball Weekly Awards 10/2
Bridgette McAndrews of Westfield State, Jessica Greco of Fitchburg State and Natalie Reynolds of Framingham State grab the MASCAC Volleyball Offensive, Defensive and Rookie of the Week after they guided their teams to first league wins of the year.
Offensive Player of the Week |
McAndrews averaged 13.5 kills and 22.5 digs with three services aces and two blocks in a 1-1 week for the Owls. Finished with 17 kills, 22 digs, three aces and a block assist in the five set win over MCLA to open conference play. Added 10 kills , 23 digs and another block assist in the 3-1 setback to Mount Holyoke. |
Defensive Player of the Week |
Greco totaled four assists, 61 digs and three service aces for the Falcons in a 3-0 week. Notched 17 digs and two assists in a 3-1 triumph over Mass. Maritime on Tuesday before adding 31 digs and one service ace in a 3-2, five set victory against Curry College on Saturday. Concluded the week, posting 13 digs, two assists and two service aces in a 3-1 win over Albertus Magnus on Saturday. |
Rookie of the Week |
Reynolds finished with 33 kills, 11 digs and 11 blocks in four matches for the Rams. Had 10 kills, five digs, a block assist and ace in the 3-0 win over Bridgewater State. Collected nine kills, six blocks (one solo), three aces and two digs in the 3-1 setback to Eastern Connecticut State. |
