The tournament kicks off on Wednesday, November 6 with first round games. Up first #4 Fitchburg State hosts #5 Salem State at 6 pm while #3 Worcester State hosts #6 Framingham State at 7 pm. In the semifinals on Friday, November 8, #2 Westfield State will host the highest remaining seed at 1 pm while #1 Bridgewater State will face the lowest remaining seed at 7 pm.
The two semifinals will meet on Sunday, November 10 at the highest remaining seed for the MASCAC Tournament title and NCAA bid.
Claiming the regular season title, the Bears went 6-0-1 in conference play. Sydney Dewhurst led the way for the team with 11 goals and 10 assists for 32, all top two of the MASCAC over her 17 games started.
Earning the other first round bye is Westfield State who was 6-1 in league action. Helping the Owls to the second seed is Delaney Parker who scored 20 goals with five assists for 45 points. Her goals and points were atop the MASCAC at the end of the regular season. She tallied three game-winners over 99 shots.
Worcester State lands the third seed and hosting rights after finishing 4-2-1 during the conference slate. In goal for the Lancers, Ella Gumienny led the conference in GAA (1.10), save percentage (.852) and wins (8). She also collected 98 saves and nine shutouts on the year.
Grabbing the other first round hosting duties is Fitchburg State. The Falcons were 3-3-1 with Adrianna Westcott tallying 11 points on five goals and an assist with one game-winning score.
Closing out the 2024 tournament field are Salem State and Framingham State in fifth and sixth, respectively. Between the pipes for the Vikings, Ava Guyer was in the top four of several statistical categories, including GAA (1.55), saves (126), save percentage (.834) and wins (4). For the Rams, Hailey Ring in her first season, led the team with five goals and an assist for 11 points with two game-winners.
At the 2023 MASCAC Tournament, second seed Westfield State came from behind to defeat top seed Bridgewater State, 2-1 to punch their ticket to the NCAA Tournament.
