MASCAC Women's Soccer Weekly Awards 11/6
The Westfield State trio of Kiana Muratsuka, Jaida Cochran and Tia Tollis claim the MASCAC Women's Soccer Offensive, Defensive and Rookie of the Week after leading the Owls to their third straight MASCAC Tournament title.
Offensive Player of the Week |
Muratsuka had a huge MASCAC tournament for the Owls, assisting on all three goals in the semifinals, then scoring the game-tying goal and assisting on the game winner in the Owls 2-1 win over Bridgewater State in the championship game en route to Tournament MVP honors. |
Defensive Player of the Week |
Cochran anchored the Owls’ back four in the MASCAC Tournament championship run, as the Owls limited their opponents to just eight shots on goal in the two games. She blocked the shot on Bridgewater’s last good scoring chance as Westfield emerged as champs with a 2-1 win over Bridgewater State in the title tilt. |
Rookie of the Week |
Tollis started both tournament games, picking up an assist in the Owls 3-2 semifinal win over Worcester State, helping the Owls to the 2023 conference tournament crown. |
