Bridgewater State's Dewhurst, Westfield State's Cochran, Parker Named to United Soccer Coaches All-Region Two Teams
Sydney Dewhurst of Bridgewater State along with Jaida Cochran and Delaney Parker of Westfield State were recently named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Region Two teams as announced by the organization.
Sydney Dewhurst of Bridgewater State along with Jaida Cochran and Delaney Parker of Westfield State were recently named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Region Two teams as announced by the organization.
Dewhurst and Parker earned a spot on the United Soccer Coaches second team while Cochran earned the third team nod.
Dewhurst tallied ten goals and six assists for 26 points in 18 games (all starts) this season as she led the Bears in all three categories as well as game-winning goals with four. The East Bridgewater, Massachusetts native tied for the MASCAC lead in game-winning goals, ranked third in the conference in both goals and scoring, and tied for fourth in assists.
Cochran's recognition comes after helping the Owls hold their opponents to only 31 goals and a 1.55 goals against this season while collecting seven shutouts on the season. Cochran's All-Region recognition marks her second in her collegiate career at Westfield State.
Parker's recognition comes after finishing the year leading the MASCAC in goals and total points. Parker scored 19 goals on the season and tallied 48 points. She also finished second in the MASCAC in assists with 10. It's the second time Parker has earned regional recognition in her career, she received All New England honors from NCAA Division III New England Women's Intercollegiate Soccer Association as a first year.
The trio were named to the MASCAC All-Conference first team last month. For Cochran and Parker, this is their third straight MASCAC First Team All-Conference recognition and first for Dewhurst.
