Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Announces the 2014 Women’s Soccer All-Conference and Sportsmanship Teams
Alicia Macomber of Worcester State has earned the 2014 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Women’s Soccer Player of the Year honors and headlines the 2014 MASCAC First Team All-Conference squad which is voted on by the coaches from around the conference.

Westfield, Mass. — Alicia Macomber of Worcester State has earned the 2014 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Year honors and headlines the 2014 MASCAC First Team All-Conference squad which is voted on by the coaches from around the conference.
The junior from Staughton, Mass helped the Lancers earn the top spot in the conference tournament with an undefeated 7-0 league record and first round bye. She finished the regular season with 15 goals and six assists for 36 points while adding five game-winning goals on the year.
Earning the 2014 MASCAC Rookie of the Year award is Justine Butler from Worcester State. The freshman defender from Marlboro, Mass. was part of a Lancer defense that only allowed three goals in conference games and 0.93 goals against average. Worcester State head coach Kevin Cumberbatch was named the 2014 Champion's Choice Women's Soccer Coach of the Year after leading the Lancers to the MASCAC regular season crown and the top seed in the tournament.
Joining Macomber on the MASCAC First Team All-Conference is Allison Lebel of Bridgewater State, Isabela DeSouza of Framingham State, Katie Levesque of Massachusetts Maritime, Kaitlyn Curley and Leah Wood of Salem State, Ashleigh Chretien, Katy Knight and Sarah Sypek of Westfield State and Shelby Archer and Alyssa Sawyer of Worcester State.
Landing on the MASCAC Second Team All-Conference are Courtney Pepin of Bridgewater State, Samantha Zina of Fitchburg State, Michaela Hyland, Angela Pallotta and Marisa Parent of Framingham State, Natalie Caney of MCLA, Amy Griffith and Rachel Ledbetter of Salem State, Ali Blanchette and Amanda Grant of Westfield State and Kiley Hardy of Worcester State.
This year for the first time, the conference is awarding a student-athlete from each institution in all of the participating sports and a coach selected by their peers for the MASCAC Sportsmanship Team. Those selected embody good sportsmanship on and off the field. The 2014 Women's Soccer Sportsmanship Team is Brooke Pacheco of Bridgewater State, Samantha Zina of Fitchburg State, Marisa Miele of Framingham State, Paige Fairman of MCLA, Mariah McGrath of Massachusetts Maritime, CeCelia Cresta Divine of Salem State, Sarah Sypek of Westfield State and Mackenzie Foye of Worcester State. Ray Cabral of Massachusetts Maritime has been voted by his peers as the 2014 Women's Soccer Sportsmanship Coach of the Year.
