Kayla Austin Headlines the 2013 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Soccer All-Conference Team
Kayla Austin of Framingham State has been named the 2013 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Women’s Soccer Player of the Year and headlines the All-Conference teams as voted on by the conference’s eight coaches.
WESTFIELD, Mass. -- Kayla Austin of Framingham State has been named the 2013 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Year and headlines the All-Conference teams as voted on by the conference's eight coaches.
Helping to lead her team to a number one seed in the conference tournament, the Winchester, Mass. native was a dominant force for the Rams with 13 goals and 13 assists for 39 points this season. Her efforts helped Framingham State go 13-1-1, 6-0-1 in the MASCAC and nab the regular season title which gave them a first round bye in this week's conference tournament.
After having a breakout freshman year for the MCLA Trailblazers, Natalie Caney was named the 2013 MASCAC Rookie of the Year. Caney was unstoppable for the Trailblazers this season, leading the team in goals with 17 and helping the team to a post-season berth. For leading his team to a perfect conference record and the top seed in the conference tournament, Tucker Reynolds of Framingham State has been selected as the 2013 MASCAC Champion's Choice Coach of the Year.
Landing on the 2013 MASCAC first-team All-Conference with Austin and Caney are Framingham State's Marisa Parent and Taylor Ezold, Westfield State's Ashleigh Chretien, Sarah Sypek and Katy Knight, MCLA's Jen Ferrari, Bridgewater State's MaryRose Griffin, Worcester State's Brittany Rotatori and Massachusetts Maritime's Katie Levesque.
The 2013 MASCAC second-team All-Conference honorees are Fitchburg State's Rachel Jamieson, Jacqueline Walker and Jillian Kirouac, Bridgewater State's Mackenzie Hatfield and Katie Nasuti, Worcester State's Shelby Archer and Laura Maunsell, Salem State's Leah Wood and Kaitlyn Quigley, MCLA's Sarah Lienecek and Westfield State's Melissa Kulik.
