2020-21 MASCAC Women's Basketball News
Ashley White '14 was promoted to head coach of the Salem State women's basketball program after serving as interim head coach during the 2020-21 season. A former assistant coach for the Vikings, White impressed Athletic Director Nicolle Wood, who made the decision to offer the position permanently.
A total of 881 student-athletes have been honored by the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference with selection to the league’s 2021 Winter/Spring All-Academic Team that was released earlier today by Commissioner Angela Baumann.
As we did with the fall sports, the conference still wants to recognize the great success of our winter student-athletes. Each week, the MASCAC will honor a champion from the 2019-20 championship season as MASCAC Players of the Week brought to you by GEICO.

The NCAA has released winter sport guidelines and the state of Massachusetts recently updated their winter sport policies. After an in-depth review of the information from the state and NCAA, consultation among the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Presidents, athletic directors, and athletic trainers and after exhausting all possibilities, including a review of the risks involved, the eight MASCAC Presidents have made the difficult decision to cancel all winter sports competition. This includes the sports of men’s and women’s basketball, men’s ice hockey and men’s and women’s indoor track and field.
