MASCAC Softball Weekly Awards 4/7
The Framingham State duo of Brooke Grassia and Audrey Gauthier along with Salem State's Alanis Toledano earn the MASCAC Softball Player, Rookie and Pitcher of the Week honors.
Player of the Week |
Grassia batted .462 (6-13), posting a .563 OBP with a double, three walks, three runs scored and zero strikeouts in a 3-1 week for the Rams from the leadoff spot. Went 3-for-3 with a run scored in game one and walked twice and scored a run in game two in the sweep of MCLA. Went 2-for-3 with a walk and run scored handing previously unbeaten UMass Boston their first loss of the season. |
Pitcher of the Week |
Toledano fired a complete game one-hitter for Salem State, with seven strikeouts and five walks in a 4-0 shutout over Bridgewater State. Also went 4-for-6, batting .667 in the doubleheader sweep of the Bears, with a home run, two RBI and a run scored. Weekly Report 4/7 |
Rookie of the Week |
Gauthier went 2-1 with a save posting a 1.34 ERA, striking out 14 and walking two in 15.2 innings of work. Posted wins in both games of a doubleheader sweep of MCLA giving up two hits and one unearned run in game one before working 1.2 innings of relief and earning the win in game 2. Didn’t allow an earned run in a 4-2 game 1 loss to undefeated UMass Boston before coming into a bases loaded no out 7th, not allowing a run to earn the save in game two. Weekly Report 4/7 |
