MASCAC Softball Weekly Awards 3/24
Ella Staffier of MCLA and Audrey Gauthier of Framingham State grab the MASCAC Softball Player, Pitcher and Rookie of the Week honors.
Player of the Week |
Staffier batted .722 (13-for-18) with a double, two triples, five RBI, eight runs scored, three walks, eight stolen bases as well as a .762 on-base percentage and 1.000 slugging percentage in a 3-3 week for MCLA. Had a hit and scored a run in each of the Trailblazers’ six games going perfect at the plate in four of those contests. Went 3-for-4 with a RBI, run scored and stolen base in the 12-11 setback to Rutgers-Newark. Was 3-for-3 with a double, triple, two RBI, walk, two stolen bases and two runs scored in the 15-4 win over St. Norbert.

Gauthier went 4-0 with a save posting 2.05 ERA and striking out 42 in 27.1 innings of work in a 7-1 week for the Rams at the Spring Games playing a competitive schedule. Highlighted by a complete game three-hit shutout with 13 strikeouts vs. regional powerhouse Endicott. Added complete game wins over Middlebury and Augsburg tallying 18 strikeouts through those two performances and adding a win and a save in relief including two perfect innings against Bowdoin. |
