MASCAC Softball Weekly Awards 3/17
Hannah Wodecki and Joss Mettey of Westfield State and Ashleigh Catlett of Mass. Maritime take home the MASCAC Softball Player, Rookie and Pitcher of the Week award winners.
Player of the Week |
Wodecki batted .542 (13-24) with a double, triple, seven RBI, six runs scored, a .667 slugging percentage and a .542 on-base percentage in a 5-1 week for the Owls, registering a hit in every game. Went 6-for-9 with a double, triple, five RBI and four runs scored in the doubleheader sweep of Wis.-Superior. Was 2-for-3 with an RBI in the 11-3 win over Alfred State and 3-for-5 with an RBI in the 9-1 win over Geneva. |
Pitcher of the Week |
Catlett went 2-0 in the circle for the Bucs this week including a perfect game on Tuesday as she struck out 15 of the 15 batters she faced in the win over Fisher. In her second appearance and win over Bay Path, she pitched six innings with six strikeouts. On the week, she allowed just five hits, two runs, and two walks while striking out 21 hitters in 11 innings of work and posted a 1.27 ERA. |
Rookie of the Week |
Mettey got two wins in three starts, as the Owls won all three of her starts in Fla. Posted a 2.15 ERA and a 1.23 whip, allowing 14 hits in 13 innings, striking out 12 and walking two. Tossed five innings with six strikeouts in a 10-1 win over Wisconsin-Superior. Weekly Report 3/17 |
