MASCAC Softball Weekly Awards 3/18
The Mass. Maritime duo of Ab'c'de Patane and Sarah Holler along with Gianna Conte of Westfield State take home the MASCAC Softball Player, Rookie and Pitcher of the Week after guiding their teams to several victories last week.
Player of the Week |
Patane batted .684 (13-19) with four doubles, two triples, three home runs, 11 RBI, nine runs scored, 1.579 slugging percentage and .714 on-base percentage in a 5-1 week for the Buccaneers. Went 5-for-5 with three doubles, a home run, three runs scored and three RBI in the doubleheader sweep of Fisher. Went 5-for-7 with a double, two triples, home run, four RBI, three runs scored, a walk and stolen base in the doubleheader sweep of New England College. Was 3-for-3 with a home run, four RBI, a walk and three runs scored in the 12-5 win over Rivier. |
Pitcher of the Week |
Conte delivered a workmanlike performance on the Florida swing, making six appearances with a 3-1 record, tossing 22 innings with 24 hits, nine strikeouts and a 3.55 ERA. Went four innings, giving up four hits and one unearned run with a strikeout and walk in the 9-1 win over St. Joseph (Conn.). Allowed one hit with three strikeouts and two walks over 3.1 innings in the 4-1 win over Alfred State. |

Holler batted .429 (9-21) with three doubles, a triple, home run, nine RBI, walk, stolen base and four runs scored in a 5-1 week for the Buccaneers. Hit her first-career home run in a 12-5 win over Rivier. Went 3-for-6 with a triple, three RBI, stolen base and run scored in the doubleheader sweep of Fisher. Went 2-for-4 with a double and RBI in the 8-2 win over New England College. |
