HOW IT HAPPENED
- Scoville (13-6) allowed an earned run, did not walk a batter and fanned four in the complete game win.
- Christina Ciampa’s RBI single gave Westfield a 1-0 lead in the second.
- Janna Jose hit a solo homer to left in the fourth to increase the lead to 2-0.
- The Owls added an insurance run in the fifth on a sacrifice fly by Sarah Hough.
- Jayden Kelly’s RBI single in the sixth was the only run for Worcester State.
- Mia Alfonso’s three-run triple in the seventh put the game away for Westfield State.
- Ciampa had two hits in the win for the Owls.
UP NEXT
Westfield State will now play second seeded Bridgewater State in an elimination game this afternoon while Worcester State saw its season end.
