MASCAC Softball Weekly Report 5/15
After leading the Rams to the MASCAC Tournament crown, Gwendolyn Carpenter, Ally Moran and Angelina Lynch of Framingham State are the MASCAC Softball Player, Pitcher and Rookie of the Week award winners.
Player of the Week |
Carpenter hit .556 (5-9) with two doubles, two home runs, six RBI, four runs scored and a 1.444 slugging percentage to lead the Rams to the MASCAC Tournament title. Was 3-for-3 with a home run, three RBI and two runs scored in the 10-2 title game win over Bridgewater State. Finished with a home run, three RBI and a run scored in the 8-0 quarterfinal win over Westfield State. |
Pitcher of the Week |
Moran earned Tournament MVP honors after she was 3-0 and allowed just one earned run in 15 innings and struck out nine in the tournament. Went the distance allowing three hits and one earned run while walking one and fanning two to get the win in the 10-2 title game win over Bridgewater State. |
Rookie of the Week |
Lynch was 5-for-7 (.714) with two doubles, four RBI, three runs scored, a .750 on-base percentage and 1.000 slugging percentage during the MASCAC Tournament. Was 2-for-2 with a double and two runs scored in the 8-0 quarterfinal win over Westfield State.and 2-for-3 with a run scored and RBI in the 10-2 title game win over Bridgewater State. |
