Bridgewater State's Ruprecht, Fitchburg State's Johnson Earn NFCA DIII All-Region Honors
Bridgewater State graduate centerfielder Alexandra Ruprecht and Fitchburg State senior infielder Audrey Johnson have been selected to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) 2022 NCAA Division III All-Region II Team.
Bridgewater State graduate centerfielder Alexandra Ruprecht and Fitchburg State senior infielder Audrey Johnson have been selected to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) 2022 NCAA Division III All-Region II Team.
Ruprecht started all 40 games in centerfield this season and batted.402 (43-107) with four home runs, nine doubles, one triple, 21 walks, six stolen bases, 31 runs scored and 32 RBI. She also posted a .496 on base percentage and .617 slugging percentage as well as a .961 fielding percentage to go along with seven outfield assists.
Ruprecht tied for the MASCAC lead in both walks and sacrifice flies (3) and ranked second in slugging percentage as well as third in on base percentage, sacrifice bunts (6) and extra base hits (14). She also finished fourth among the conference leaders in home runs, fifth in batting average, total bases (66) and runs batted in, sixth in runs scored, eighth in doubles and ninth in hits.
In 157 games over her first five seasons with the Bears, Ruprecht has a career batting average of .347 (162-467) with 13 home runs, 32 doubles, two triples, 14 stolen bases, 98 runs scored and 113 RBI. She also has 38 walks, nine sacrifice flies and 16 sacrifice bunts to her credit as well as a .396 on base percentage and a .507 slugging percentage.
Earlier this month Ruprecht was named the MASCAC Player of the Year and was selected to the All-MASCAC Team for the fourth straight season.
Johnson batted .347 (44-for-121) with eight doubles, two triples, six home runs, 24 runs scored, 30 RBI, 13 walks and three stolen bases on the season, while becoming just the 12th Falcon to reach the 100 career hit milestone on April, 21, 2021.
For her efforts, Audrey was also selected to the 2022 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Softball All-Conference First Team.
The awards honor student-athletes from the Association's ten regions with selection to one of three teams with all honorees moving forward to be considered for selection to the three NFCA Division III All-America squads, which will be announced on May 24th.
