MASCAC Softball Weekly Report 4/12
Westfield State's Sarah Meunier and Emily Arredondo were named this week's Player of the Week and Pitcher of the Week while Julianna Savone of Fitchburg State was named Rookie of the Week in the awards brought to you by GEICO.
Player of the Week |
Meunier finished the week batting 8-for-10 (.800) with four extra base hits. Drove in seven runs and scored five. Went 5-for-7, hitting for the cycle in a doubleheader against Worcester State, including three-run home run in the bottom of the seventh inning to rally the Owls from an 8-4 deficit to 8-7 in a loss. Tacked on a 3-for-3 performance with a double, two runs scored, and an RBI in a win at Mass Maritime. |
Pitcher of the Week |
Arredondo picked up a pair of complete game wins, finishing the week with a 0.54 ERA. Tossed six innings allowing three hits and striking out three in a 8-0 win over Worcester and added a seven strikeout performance against Mass. Maritime while scattering eight hits

Rookie of the Week |
Savone atted .571 (8-for-14) with a double, a home run, three runs scored, and seven RBI with a .611 on-base percentage and a .857 slugging percentage in four games for the Falcons. Went 2-for-4 with home run and three RBI in 5-3 conference win over Salem State. Also had two hits and a RBI in 4-0 shutout over the Vikings. Went 4-for-7 with four hits and three RBI in a pair of non-conference games versus Salem State on Saturday.
