The Framingham State trio of Laela Pepin, Ally Moran and Grace Swanson grab the first MASCAC Softball Player, Pitcher and Rookie of the Week of the 2021 season with the awards brought to you by GEICO.
Player of the Week |
Pepin went 12-for-32 (.375) with three doubles, a home run, eight runs scored, 11 RBI and .563 slugging percentage in a 9-1 season start for the Rams. Went 2-for-5 with two runs scored, three RBI, a walk and stolen base in the conference doubleheader sweep of Westfield State. Was 2-for-3 with a double, run scored, two RBI, walk and stolen base in the game two non-conference win over Westfield State. Went 4-for-7 with a double, home run, two runs scored and three RBI in the season-opening doubleheader sweep of Emmanuel College. |
Pitcher of the Week |
Moran posted a 4-1 record with a save in a 9-1 season start for the Rams. Allowed only seven earned run in 34.2 innings (1.41 ERA) only walking six and registering 28 strikeouts. Pitched a complete game, only allowing four hits, two walks, an earned run with five strikeouts in the 7-1 conference win over Westfield State. Earned the win in the non-conference win over Westfield State, giving up no earned runs and three hits with strikeouts in a 4-1 eight-inning victory. Allowed three hits, no earned runs with four strikeouts in the complete game 7-1 win over Emmanuel College.

Rookie of the Week |
Swanson went 11-for-24 (.458) with a double and five runs scored, five stolen bases and a .500 slugging percentage in a 9-1 run for the Rams. Went a combined 9-for-12 (.750) with a double and five runs scored and five steals in the four game sweep of Westfield State. Was 4-for-5 with three runs scored and three steals in the conference doubleheader against the Owls. |
