Softball Weekly Award Winners 4/6
Shelby Phillips of Framingham State and Amber White and Tara McCann of Bridgewater State are the softball player, pitcher and rookie of the week honorees.

Shelby Phillips Framingham State Junior • SS • Taunton, Mass. Phillips batted .556 (10-18) with 11 RBI, seven runs scored, two homeruns and two doubles in a 4-4 week for the Rams, including nine RBI, two homeruns and a double in the sweep of Pine Manor in addition to going 2-5 with an RBI and double in an extra inning loss to Fitchburg State.

White went 4-1 on the week with three complete games and a pair of shutouts in five appearances including three starts. Did not allow an earned run in 28 2/3 innings of work (0.00 ERA) and fanned 31 while walking just four. Hurled a one-hit shutout with 11 strikeouts in a 5-0 win over Lasell College. Won both games of a doubleheader with Westfield State. Tossed a two-hit shutout with three strikeouts in a 3-0 win over the Owls, and threw four scoreless innings of relief with five strikeouts in a 3-1, eight-inning win over the Owls.

McCann batted .333 (7-21) with a double, home run, five runs, three RBI in a 5-1 week for the Bears. Went 3-7 with a home run, double, three runs and two RBI in a sweep of Westfield State, 3-8 with a run and an RBI in a doubleheader split with Rhode Island College and 1-6 with a run scored in a sweep of Lasell College.
