Softball Weekly Award Winners 3/30
Tara McCann of Bridgewater State and Brittany Whiting of Fitchburg State have claimed the softball player, pitcher and rookie of the week honors.

Tara McCann Bridgewater State Freshman • 3B • Fall River, Mass. McCann batted .533 (8-15) with a double, two runs scored and six RBI in a 3-1 week for the Bears. Went 5-8 with two runs and two RBI in a doubleheader split with UMass Boston and 3-7 with a double and four RBI in the sweep of Framingham State.

Whiting went 2-0 on the week for the Falcons, allowing just six hits with 16 strikeouts, no walks and an ERA of 0.00 in 14 innings of work. Pitched a three-hit complete game shutout while striking out 10 in a 1-0 win over Mitchell College before registering her second three-hit complete game shutout on the week with six strikeouts in the 4-0 victory against Salem State.
