Crowley Headlines 2014 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Softball All-Conference Team
Senior outfielder Cara Crowley of Salem State has been named the 2014 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Softball Player of the Year and heads the all-conference squad which is voted on by the coaches from around the conference.

Westfield, Mass. — Senior outfielder Cara Crowley of Salem State has been named the 2014 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Softball Player of the Year and heads the all-conference squad which is voted on by the coaches from around the conference.
The Lynn, Mass. native helped the Vikings to a spot in this week's MASCAC Tournament and an 8-6 conference record. She finished the year second in batting average in the conference (.403) and third in RBI (26) while adding 14 doubles, two triples and a home run.
Bridgewater State's Amber White was named the 2014 MASCAC Pitcher of the Year for the third straight time after leading the Bears to the regular season title and top seed in the tournament. The senior from Middleboro, Mass. closed out her senior year with the conference's best ERA (0.43) and total wins (19) while having the third best strikeout total in the league (123).
Framingham State freshman Tiffanie Marsh has been tabbed as the 2014 MASCAC Rookie of the Year after leading the league with a. 456 batting average while adding 11 doubles, three triples, seven RBI and seven stolen bases while helping the Rams to an 8-6 conference mark. Bridgewater State's Chrissy Semler was awarded by her peers the 2014 Champion's Choice Coach of the Year honors after leading the Bears to a 13-1 conference record in her first year at the helm.
Landing alongside Crowley, White and Marsh on the MASCAC first team all-conference are Bridgewater State's Jocelyn Bettencourt, Jennifer Galavotti and Jill Welch, Framingham State's Danielle Belliveau and Andrea Smith, MCLA's Rachel Quackenbush, Salem State's Michelle Flower, Rebecca Krigman and Jenn Toussaint.
Earning a spot on the MASCAC second team all-conference are Bridgewater State's Jessica Laudati and Kelly McCarthy, Fitchburg State's Kerry Alcott and Marissa Gemma, Framingham State's Helen Falzone and Alex Ferri, MCLA's Michaela Dinicola, Westfield State's Breanne Bisceglia and Julia Sullivan and Worcester State's Kayla Humphrey, Courtney Salisbury and Jillian Witkowski.
The Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference, the nation's first Division III men's and women's playing conference, has a rich and storied tradition of competitive success while celebrating excellence in the classroom. MASCAC core member schools include Bridgewater State University, Fitchburg State University, Framingham State University, MCLA, Massachusetts Maritime Academy, Salem State University, Westfield State University and Worcester State University. Two other institutions, the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and Plymouth State University, are affiliate members of the conference in the sports of football and men's ice hockey, while Western Connecticut State University joined the conference as an affiliate member in football beginning in 2013-14.
