Westfield State Wins 2019 MASCAC Women's Cross Country Championship
Westfield State took home the 2019 MASCAC Women's Cross Country crown at the league championship which was run at Moore State Park in Paxton, Mass on Saturday afternoon.

The Owls finished first with 34 points while Bridgewater State was second with 51 points. Up next in third was Worcester State with 64 while Framingham State came in fifth with 113. Fitchburg State and Massachusetts Maritime rounded out the field in fifth and sixth with 115 and 176 points, respectively.
Leading the way for Westfield State was Grace Phair who not only was the top overall finisher to earn 2019 MASCAC Runner of the Year honors but was also the top first time performer for Rookie of the Year accolades. She finished the 5k course in a time of 19:10. Teammates Amy O'Sullivan and Andrea Noland also finished in the top 10 for All-Conference honors. O'Sullivan was third with a time of 19:24 while Noland was sixth with a time of 20:30.
Second place team Bridgewater State had three runners in the top 10 for All-Conference accolades. Jenise Madden crossed the line in 19:23 for second place, Kaylee Dunn came across in 19:56 for fifth place and Katherine Vogel finished with a time of 20:43 for seventh place.
For Worcester State, Ryann Molinari and Kasey Clark found a spot on the All-Conference team with their finish. Molinari ran the 5k course in a time of 19:52 while Clark came in with a time of 20:48 for fourth and eighth place, respectively.
Closing out this year's All-Conference team is Eliza Weisse of Framingham State and Abby Murphy of Fitchburg State. Weiss finished ninth with a 5k time of 20:51 and Murphy was next in 10th with a time of 21:07.
Connor Foley of Bridgewater State was named the 2019 Champion's Choice Coach of the Year by his peers.
The women's teams will get a week off before racing in the Division III New England Championships hosted by Bowdoin College on November 16.
