MASCAC Women's Lacrosse Weekly Award Winners 3/24
Natalie DeMaio of Westfield State along with Meredith Sylvia and Sara Skaff of Bridgewater State take home the MASCAC Women's Lacrosse Offensive, Defensive and Rookie of the Week honorees.

DeMaio had a big week with 14 goals and four assists for 18 points plus five ground balls, four caused turnovers and three draw controls in a 2-1 week for the Owls. Rattled off six goals in a win over Johnson Wales, and five in a 20-9 win over Western New England then added three goals and two assists in a setback to #16-ranked Amherst. Topped the 200-point mark for her career to move into sixth on the Owls career scoring list. |
Defensive Player of the Week
Meredith Sylvia, Bridgewater State
Junior, Midfield, S. Dartmouth, Mass.
Sylvia recorded seven ground balls, nine draw controls and seven caused turnovers in a 2-0 week for the
Bears. Also scored three goals and dished out an assist from her midfield position. Notched five ground balls,
seven draw controls and four caused turnovers while scoring three goals in a 12-11 win over Coast Guard.
Tallied two ground balls, two draw controls and three caused turnovers to go along with an assist in a 13-10
victory over Emmanuel.

Rookie of the Week |
Skaff went 2-0 between the pipes for the Bears last week with 20 saves, a .500 save percentage and a 10.24 goals against average. Also added three ground balls. Made 12 saves including a key stop with 57 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter in a 12-11 win over Coast Guard. Turned aside eight shots in a 13-10 victory over Emmanuel. |
