MASCAC Women's Lacrosse Weekly Awards 3/25
For the third straight week, Hannah Guerin of Framingham State is MASCAC Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week while Meredith Sylvia of Bridgewater State and Sarah Naar join as Defensive Player and Rookie of the Week.
Offensive Player of the Week |
Guerin tallied 11 goals and five assists for 16 total points in a 2-0 week for the Rams. Scored five goals and three assists with a caused turnover in the 15-10 win over Western New England. Closed the week with six goals and two assists in the 15-9 win over Keene State and in the process surpassed 200 career goals and became the FSU career all-time points leader with 289. |
Defensive Player of the Week
Meredith Sylvia, Bridgewater State
Sophomore, Midfield, S. Dartmouth, Mass.
Sylvia forced five turnovers and added six ground balls and four draw controls in a 1-1 week for the Bears. Also
scored four goals. Registered four caused turnovers, three ground balls and three draw controls to go along with
a pair of goals in an 11-10 setback to Southern Maine. Notched three ground balls, a draw control, a caused turnover
and two goals in a 16-12 win over Emmanuel.
Rookie of the Week |
Naar recorded six goals and an assist with six ground balls and a caused turnover in a 1-1 week for the Buccaneers. In the team’s 15-6 win over Curry, scored five times to lead all players with an assist and picked up a game-high five ground balls and caused a turnover. In the two games, she posted a 70.6% shots on goal percentage. |
