Westfield State’s Woodall Named 2018 MASCAC Women’s Player of the Year and Headlines the 2018 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Women’s Lacrosse All-Conference Team
Junior Maria Woodall of Westfield State has been named the 2018 Women’s Lacrosse Player of the Year and headlines this year’s all-conference team in a vote taken of the eight coaches from around the league.

Westfield, Mass. — Junior Maria Woodall of Westfield State has been named the 2018 Women's Lacrosse Player of the Year and headlines this year's all-conference team in a vote taken of the eight coaches from around the league.
Woodall, a junior from Norfolk, Mass., helped the Owls to a perfect 7-0 record in conference play, the MASCAC Regular Season Championship and the top spot in the MASCAC Tournament. Woodall led the conference in goal against average (8.26), total goals against (141), saves (183), save percentage (56.5) and wins (17). In the win over Framingham State on April 17, she collected 15 saves with a 65.2 save percentage to help the Owls get the win.
Casey Sullivan of Massachusetts Maritime has been named the 2018 MASCAC Rookie of the Year. The freshman from Sagamore Beach, Mass. tallied 50 goals and seven assists for 57 points this season. Her goal total is the fourth-best in the conference. She also collected 37 ground balls, 42 draw controls and caused nine turnovers for the Buccaneers. Her best game of the season came in the win over MCLA where she tallied nine goals and an assist for 10 points plus two ground balls and three draws in the win.
After leading the Owls to the MASCAC regular season title and the top seed in the tournament, Jeff Pechulis of Westfield State has been named the 2018 Champion's Choice Coach of the Year.
Earning a spot on the 2018 MASCAC First Team with Woodall are Bridgewater State's Elizabeth Ettridge, Victoria McDonough and Lisa Moynihan, Fitchburg State's Lia Crutchfield and Carrie Long, Framingham State's Kimmy Foley and Grace Gamache, Westfield State's Caroline Arket and Sydney Lambert and Worcester State's Mackenzie Little and Alexis Vecchiarelli.
Sitting on the 2018 MASCAC Second-Team All-Conference squad with Sullivan are Framingham State's Bailey Donelly, Indigo Fox Tree-McGrath and Nicole Pacheco, Massachusetts Maritime's Stephanie Hunt, Salem State's Paige Giuliano, Westfield State's Samantha Coyle, Sam Donohoe, Marissa Nimeskern, Olivia Overdahl and Alexa Tonelli and Worcester State's Lauren Arbec.
