Bridgewater State senior forward Arielle Cleveland has been selected as the New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) Player of the Week and to the d3hoops.com Team of the Week.
Cleveland poured in a career-high 30 points and pulled down 14 rebounds (three offensive) in the Bears’ 72-53 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Association (MASCAC) win over Framingham State University. The double-double marked her second of the season and seventh of her career. The Groveland, Massachusetts product knocked down a career-high eight three-pointers and also added an assist, a steal and a blocked shot in the victory over the Rams.
Through 20 games this season, Cleveland is averaging 7.8 points, 6.3 rebounds, two assists and 1.4 steals. She is also shooting 30% (27-90) from behind the arc.
Cleveland currently ranks fifth in the MASCAC in three-point shooting percentage, and eighth in both rebounding and made three-pointers.
In 93 games over four seasons with the Bears, Cleveland has amassed 665 points, 536 rebounds, 111 assists, 38 blocked shots and 88 steals.
This week, Cleveland was selected to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week. On Monday, she was named the MASCAC Player of the Week for the first time in her career.
