Framingham State's Flannery O'Connor and Bridgewater State's Jannise Avelino take home the MASCAC Women's Basketball Player and Rookie of the Week awards after going undefeated in their league play last week.

O'Connor averaged 22.3 points and 10.7 rebounds while shooting 59 percent from the floor (26-44) in a 3-0 week for the Rams to secure the MASCAC Regular Season Title and complete an undefeated conference slate. Scored 23 points with 14 rebounds and three blocks in the 65-55 win over Worcester State. Tallied 24 points and 11 rebounds in 26 minutes of play in the 91-70 win over Salem State and scored 20 points with seven boards in 18 minutes of play in a win over MCLA. |
Rookie of the Week |
Avelino averaged 17.5 points, 7.5 rebounds (2.5 offensive) and 2.5 steals in two games for the Bears last week while shooting 65% (13-20) from the floor and 69% (9-13) from the free throw line. Poured in a career-high 23 points to go along with seven rebounds (three offensive) and four steals in a 97-53 MASCAC win at Fitchburg State. Also notched 12 points, eight rebounds (two offensive), a steal and a blocked shot in an 84-74 conference win over Worcester State. |
