Framingham State's Flannery O'Connor and Westfield State's Jordan Grant take home the MASCAC Women's Basketball Player and Rookie of the Week awards after claiming key conference wins last week.

O'Connor averaged 23 points, 15.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists, two steals and 1.7 blocks whille shooting 54.9 percent from the field in a 3-0 week for the Rams. Had a double-double of 28 points and 15 rebounds with two steals and two assists in the 102-55 win over Westfield State, 23 points, 14 rebounds, four blocks and four assists in the 74-57 win over Worcester State and ended the week with 18 points, 17 rebounds, three steals, two assists and a block in the 78-54 win over Bridgewater State. |
Rookie of the Week |
Grant posted double figures in each game, averaging 16.8 points 5.8 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.8 steals per game while shooting 63.3 percent from the floor in a 3-1 week for the Owls. Finished with 18 points, eight rebounds, two assists, two steals and a block in the setback to Framingham State then followed it up with three straight double figure point efforts in wins over Fitchburg State, SUNY-Cobleskill and MCLA. |
