The Westfield State duo of Melissa Gray and Maddie Pond take home the MASCAC Women's Basketball Player and Rookie of the Week accolades after going 2-0 last week, including their first league win.

Gray averaged 15.5 points, five rebounds, 1.5 assists and a steal in a 2-0 week for the Owls. Scored 24 points in a 107-95 win over SUNY-Poly to become the Owls all time leading scorer, breaking a 23-year old school record. Gray finished 9-15 from the floor and 6-9 from three point range. She added seven points and six rebounds in 16 minutes of action in the 101-54 win over MCLA in the conference opener. |

Pond averaged 10.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, two assists and two steals in a 2-0 week for the Owls. Set a career-high with 14 points in the Owls 101-54 win over MCLA. She was a perfect 6-6 from the floor and 2-2 from long range. She grabbed three rebounds and handed out a pair of assists. |
