For the first time in 2020, Melissa Gray of Westfield State and Kylee Piché of Bridgewater State claim the MASCAC Women's Basketball Player and Rookie of the Week award honorees. The awards are brought to you by GEICO.

Gray averaged 16.5 points, 8.5 steals and 6.5 rebounds in two games for the Owls. Narrowly missed a triple-double with 25 points, 11 steals and nine rebounds in the 89-82 loss to WPI. Added eight points, six steals and four rebounds in 15 minutes of play in the 86-68 setback to Western New England University. Currently leading the nation with 4.91 steals per game. |
Rookie of the Week |
Piché averaged 15 points, 1.7 rebounds and 1.3 assists in a 1-2 week for the Bears while shooting 50% (17-34) from the floor, 71.4% (5-7) from three-point range and 85.7% (6-7) at the free throw line. At the Music City Classic in Nashville, Tennessee, tallied a career-high 21 points to go along with three rebounds and a steal in a 74-68 loss to Hamilton College, and 17 points, two rebounds and four assists in an 86-65 setback to Nazareth College. Also notched seven points and a steal in a 78-60 victory over Clark University. |
