Worcester, MA --- The Worcester State women's basketball team hosted a "Math Madness" event for local area elementary and middle school students this past Wednesday in a 67-60 victory over Western New England. The event allowed local children the opportunity to enrich their math skills through basketball.

More than 500 students participated in the event from the Tatnuck, May Street and Chandler Magnet schools along with the Forest Grove Middle school.  "Math Madness" is designed to offer students the opportunity to answer questions from grade appropriate math packets. The questions engaged the students in solving problems related player's statistics, scores, averages, court dimensions and other math equations.

The students had the opportunity to meet and greet players from both teams following the conclusion of the contest.
