Bridgewater State Nabs 2024 MASCAC Men's Cross Country Title
Bridgewater State returns to their winning ways and nabbed the MASCAC Men's Cross Country title on Saturday afternoon, claiming their second title in three years at the Doyle Conservation Area in Leominster, Mass.

The Bears claimed the top spot with 23 points while second place finisher Westfield State had 56. Fitchburg State was next in third with 73 and Framingham State fourth with 108. Worcester State and Mass. Maritime closed out the team finishers with 128 and 148 points, respectively for fifth and sixth.
Leading the way for Bridgewater State was Kevin McBirney who crossed the line first with an 8k time of 26:20 to claim individual honors and MASCAC Runner of the Year. Finishing in third was Kyle Ackroyd with a time of 26:35, fourth was Aydan Fournier with a time of 26:42 and fifth was Mitchell Parent with a time of 26:46. Rounding out the Bears top 10 was Kenneth Goodwin in seventh with a time of 26:53.
For Westfield State, Nathan Sylven came in third after crossing the line in a time of 26:35 only .03 faster than Ackroyd in third.
Fitchburg State had three finishers in the top 10. Taban Manyok came in second with a time of 26:25. Samual Edwards ran a time of 26:55, good enough for eighth and the MASCAC Rookie of the Year honors. Michael Burns closed out the top 10 with a time of 27:01.
Aaron Corlette earned a top 10 nod with a ninth place finish for Framingham State with a time of 26:56 in his first season with the Rams.
Christine Kloiber of Bridgewater State was voted BSN Men's Cross Country Coach of the Year after guiding the Bears to the team title.
The MASCAC teams get a week off before returning to action at their respective NCAA Regionals on Saturday, Nov. 16.
