Bridgewater State's Kevin McBirney and Westfield State's Nathan Sylven take home the MASCAC Men's Cross Country Runner and Rookie of the Week after crossing as their teams top finishers this weekend.

McBirney placed tenth out of a field of 274 runners at the Suffolk Invitational held this past weekend at Franklin Park in Boston. Covered the eight-kilometer course in a time of 26:00.3 as he helped the Bears finish ninth in the team standings. |

Sylven was the first to finish for Westfield State, traversing the 8,000 meter course at The Conn College Invitational at Harkness State park in a time of 26:11 to place 96th. |
