Bridgewater State claims the 2022 MASCAC Men's Cross Country which was ran at Stanley Park hosted by Westfield State.
The Bears won the title with 42 points over second place Westfield State who was right behind with 46 points. In third was Fitchburg State with 74 points while Worcester State is next in fourth with 92. Framingham State came in fifth with 127 while Mass. Maritime and MCLA were sixth nd seventh with 188 and 193 points, respectively.
Taban Manyok of Fitchburg State won back-to-back individual honors after crossing the line first with an 8k time of 26:14. Joining Manyok in the top 10 was teammate Michael Burns who was 10th with a time of 28:04.
Bridgewater State finished with three runners in the top 10 to earn All-Conference accolades. Connor Mackie came in fourth with an 8k time of 27:47 while teammate Braden Boucher was sixth in 27:51 to take home 2022 MASCAC Rookie of the Year honors. Samuel Steere crossed the line eighth with a time of 27:55 to lead the squad to the team title.
Runner-up Westfield State had two student-athletes in the top 10. John Nekitopoulos and Brandon Hager were two and three with 8k times of 26:50 and 27:29, respectively.
Patrick Walsh of Framingham State finished fifth with an 8k time of 27:48 as the top Rams runner.
Worcester State duo of James Riley and Ethan Goodreau earn All-Conference honors after coming in seventh and ninth with a time of 27:55 and 27:56, respectively.
Marlee Berg from Westfield State was named the 2022 BSN Sports Men's Cross Country Coach of the Year as voted by her peers.
The men's cross country season continues in two weeks at the NCAA DIII Northeast and East Regionals hosted by St. Lawrence and Bowdoin, respectively.
