Bridgewater State Men, Westfield State Women Selected to Win 2024-25 MASCAC Men’s and Women’s Indoor Track and Field Titles
Bridgewater State men and Westfield State women have been selected by the coaches around the conference to claim the 2024-25 MASCAC Indoor Track and Field titles.

Westfield, Mass.— Bridgewater State men and Westfield State women have been selected by the coaches around the conference to claim the 2024-25 MASCAC Indoor Track and Field titles.
Bridgewater State had the top spot in this year’s poll after the Bears took home 11 individual titles and two relay crowns at the 2023-24 Championship. Kevin McBirney won multiple conference individual titles as he was the first to cross the finish line in both the mile (4:34.94) and the 800-meter run (2:01.39).
Finishing second in the 2024-25 poll is Westfield State. John Nekitopoulous was a dual winner, crossing the line first in the 1,000 meter run (2:44.09) and 3,000 meter run (9:30.45) at last year’s MASCAC meet.
Fitchburg State and Worcester State tied for the third spot. Returning for the team is Liam Bourassa who placed second overall in the shot put with a throw of 14.42 meters and fifth in the weight throw with a toss of 14.72 meters For the Lancers, Brodie Jacques beat out the competition in the 60 meter dash by a one hundredth of a second in 7.07 to win the title at last year’s championship.
On the women’s side, Westfield State looks to repeat as MASCAC Women’s Indoor Champions. At last year’s meet, Eliza Lee was a two-time winner with a first place finish in the 600 meter run (1:48.33) and 800 meter run (2:32.76).She was also part of the 4x400m relay winning team with a time of 4:25.17.
Bridgewater State is up next in second. At last year’s championship, Serenity Sands posted a leap of 1.66m to grab the MASCAC crown in the high jump and went all the way to the NCAA Championships where she finished fourth in the event for All-American honors.
Worcester State comes in third in this year’s poll. In her first season with the Lancers, Jadah Stokes came home with two champion medals after finishing first in the shot put (11.48m) and the weight throw (13.90m).
Rounding out the women’s poll is Fitchburg State in fourth. During the 2023-24 MASCAC Championship, Skye Goba finished second in the 5000 meter with a time of 19:12.47 and third in the 1000 meter (3:21.53).
The indoor season begins on Saturday, December 7 when Bridgewater State competes at the Early Bird Invitational, Fitchburg State and Westfield State head to Springfield College for their invitational and Worcester State will compete at the Wesleyan Winter Invite.
