MASCAC Men's Outdoor Track and Field Weekly Awards 4/30
The Bridgewater State duo of Stephen Spofford and Jason Dann along with Nathan Sylven of Westfield State take home the MASCAC Men's Outdoor Track and Field weekly awards after competing at the MASCAC Championship on Friday.
Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week |
Spofford won the individual title in the 400-meter dash with a time of 50.06 seconds this past weekend at the MASCAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Also ran a leg on the Bears’ first-place 4x100-meter relay (42.40) and placed second in the 200-meter dash (22.24). Helped the Bears capture the program’s sixth straight MASCAC outdoor crown. |
Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week |
Dann won a pair of individual titles this past weekend at the MASCAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Paced the field in the discus throw with a PR of 46.06m, and placed first in the hammer throw with a toss of 52.90m. Helped the Bears capture the program’s sixth straight MASCAC outdoor crown. Currently ranks fourth in the East Region in both the discus and hammer. |

Sylven was a standout for the Owls at the MASCAC Championships, winning the 3,000 steeplechase in a time of 10:09.96, and the 5,000 meters in 16:06.17, and mixed in a third place result in the 1,500 meters (4:14.35) in the middle of the meet to total 26 points for the Owls. |
