Bridgewater State Claims MASCAC and New England Alliance Outdoor Track and Field Crowns

The Bears took home both the MASCAC and Alliance scores with nine individual winners and two relays. Lamont Haynes was a double winner in the 200 meter dash (22.32) and 400 (48.99) on the MASCAC side. Jacob DeAndrade crossed the line first in the 100 meter dash in a time of 11.15 while Joe Keough was tops in the 3,000 meter steeplechase (9:48.35). Trevor Wysong in the 5,000 meters (15:58), Joshua Quinnie in the 110 meter hurdles (15.25) and Josh Higgins in the 800 meter run (1:58.56) plus the 4x100 meter relay (43.24) and 4x400 meter relay (3:24.23) rounded out the track honorees.
On the field side, Ryan Bain finished first in the javelin with a top throw of 53.06 meters (174' 1.00"). Jamie Carlson had the top league clearing in the pole vault (4.10m/ 13' 5.25").
Runner up Worcester State finished with three conference champions. Abdulrazak Frederick was the top finished in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 57.30. In field events, Elmer Acuna had the top toss in the discus throw (43.81m/143' 9") while teammate Marcus Vieira had the further hammer throw (53.89m/176' 10") for MASCAC honors.
Westfield State took home four individual crowns and the final relay. Owen Ortiz was a dual winner in the triple jump (13.45m/44' 1.50") and long jump (6.70m/21' 11.75"). Zac Bentley was first in the 1,500 meter run with a time of 4:14.34. Tim Forrest crossed the line first in the 10,000 meters in a time of 32:54.71. The Owls also claimed the 4x800 meter relay in 8:29.25.
Fitchburg State and Massachusetts Maritime both had one individual champion on the day. For the Falcons, Christian McWhinnie-Armstead had the top leap in high jump, clearing 2.01m (6' 7"). For the Buccaneers, Colin McCabe threw the furthest in the shot put with a throw of 16.50m (54' 1.75").
