Worcester State Wins the MASCAC Men's Outdoor Track and Field Championship
For the first time since 1976, the Worcester State Lancers are the MASCAC Men's Outdoor Track and Field Champions and complete the sweep of the track and field meets after winning the indoor title in February.

Competing at Westfield State, the Lancers took the MASCAC title with 208 points. In second was Bridgewater State with 177 points while Westfield State is close behind in third with 176 points. Fitchburg State landed in fourth with 75 points while Massachusetts Maritime was fifth with 10 points.
Worcester State took home eight individual league titles and one relay. Edward Boamoah was a dual champion in the 200 meter dash (21.90) and 400 meter dash (47.78). He set a new MASCAC and Alliance in the 400 meter dash with his time. In the 100 meter dash, Jalil Gibson finished first with a time of 11.10 seconds.
On the field side, Sam Weeks was a two-time champion in the shot put (16.41m/53' 10.25") and discus throw (49.35m/ 161' 11"). Marcus Vieira had the best throw in the MASCAC and Alliance in the hammer throw with a top distance of 55.48m (182') while Justin Lewis grabbed the MASCAC crown in the high jump (2.01m/ 6' 7") and Scott Page in the pole vault with a top clearing of 4.40m (14' 5.25").
The 4x100 relay team of Gibson, Charles Newman, Phillip Bynum and Jared Barros won the MASCAC title with a top time of 42.83.
Bridgewater State claimed five league titles and the final two relays to finish second. Michael Kotleski was the MASCAC champion in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 55.19 seconds. Josh Higgins earned an individual medal in the 800 meter run in a time of 1:55.53. Joseph Kisamore earned the top spot in the 1,500 meter run (3:58.77) while Joe Keough won the 3,000 meter steeplechase (9:48.24).
In the field, Cameron Williamson had the top triple jump leap in the MASCAC with 14.21m (46' 7.50"), good enough for the individual title.
Lamont Haynes, Higgins, Olivier Ndikumana and Kotleski crossed the line first in the 4x400 meter relay for the MASCAC and Alliance title with a time of 3:20.24. In the 4x800 meter relay, Mike Sanpietro, Jake Connor, Will McKenzie and Zack Viera took home the MASCAC crown in a time of 8:28.47.
Westfield State landed two individual champions. Edison Perez was the 110 meter hurdle champion with a time of 15.49 while Dereck Stone was the long jump champion with a top leap of 6.87m (22' 6.50").
Closing out the individual winners was Fitchburg State with three. Brian Amaral was a dual winner in the 5,000 meters (15:48.67) and 10,000 meters (33:45.67). Cameron Stalters had the top throw in the javelin with a distance of 62.86m (206' 3").
Along with the MASCAC title, Worcester State also took home the Alliance crown with 149 points over runner-up Southern Maine with 125. Bridgewater State and Westfield State were in third and fourth with 110 and 95 points, respectively.
