Westfield State Earns Back to Back MASCAC Men's Outdoor Track and Field Titles
The Westfield State Owls have repeated as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Outdoor Track and Field Champions after winning the title on Saturday over Bridgewater State at the MASCAC/New England Alliance meet hosted by Fitchburg State.

The Westfield State Owls have repeated as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Outdoor Track and Field Champions after winning the title on Saturday over Bridgewater State at the MASCAC/New England Alliance meet hosted by Fitchburg State.
The Owls took the MASCAC title with 219.50 over second place finisher Bridgewater State who came next with 199.50 points. Worcester State finished third with 135 points. Fitchburg State and Massachusetts Maritime rounded out the finishers in fourth and fifth with 75 and 16 points, respectively.
Westfield State claimed five individual MASCAC titles, including two for Travon Godette in the javelin (199' 2.0'/60.72 meters) and high jump (6' 6"/1.98 meters). Zach Delisle earned All-Conference honors in pole vault (13' 7.25"/4.15 meters) while the Owls also took home the 4x400 meter relay (3:22.01) and 4x800 meter relay (8:04.30) crown.
Bridgewater State finished with 11 conference individual titles, including three student-athletes with more than one first place finish. Andy Sukeforth was a dual winner in the 1,500 meter run (3:58.53) and 5,000 meters (15:37.21) while Josh Goehring won the 400 meter dash (50.26) and 800 meter run (1:55.12) and Brian Espinosa was the MASCAC champ in the 200 meter dash (22.14) and long jump (23' 1.25"/7.04 meters). Connor Foley claimed the 3,000 steeplechase (10:01.72), Joseph Danner-Hicks earned the 100 meter dash crown (10.77), Kevin Sawyer the 400 meter hurdles (56.84) and Chris Perry in the triple jump (46' 9.50"/ 14.26 meters). The Bears 4x100 meter relay set a new MASCAC and Alliance record with a time of 41.80.
For Worcester State, the squad took home four individual honors. Terrence Gibson broke the MASCAC and Alliance record in the 110 meter hurdles (14.38). Robert White finished first in the hammer throw (143'11"/43.88 meters) while Matthew Begley in the shot put (48' 8.25"/14.84 meters) and Sam Weeks in the discus throw (139' 9.0"/ 42.60 meters) earned All-Conference honors.
Fitchburg State rounded out the individual honors with one individual title. Eric Ouellette crossed the line first in the 10,000 meter run (32:15.29) to earn All-Conference accolades.
Bridgewater State took home the Men's New England Alliance crown with 163 points over second place finisher Southern Maine with 141.50 points.
