MASCAC Men's Soccer Weekly Awards 11/6
The Bridgewater State trio of David Nelson, William Russell and Nicholas Ribiero claim the MASCAC Men's Soccer Offensive, Defensive and Rookie of the Week honors after guiding the Bears to the conference tourney crown.
Offensive Player of the Week |
Nelson, the MVP of the MASCAC Tournament, tallied three goals and two assists for eight points during the Bears’ tournament title run. Notched a hat track and assisted on the game-winning goal in a 5-0 championship game win over Westfield State. Assisted on the game-winner in a 1-0 semifinal win over Framingham State. |
Defensive Player of the Week |
Russell posted back-to-back shutouts to help lead the Bears to the MASCAC Tournament title and a trip to the NCAA Division III Tournament. Made seven saves in a 1-0 semifinal win over Framingham State and four saves in a 5-0 championship game victory over Westfield State. |
Rookie of the Week |
Ribiero tallied a goal and an assist during the Bears’ MASCAC Tournament title run. Scored the game-winning goal in the championship game win over Westfield State and assisted on the game-winner in a 1-0 semifinal round victory over Framingham State. |
