Beginning with the quarters on Tuesday, #3 Bridgewater State will host #6 Worcester State at 3:30 pm. At 7 pm, #5 MCLA will travel to #4 Mass. Maritime. The winner of Bridgewater/Worcester will face #2 Framingham State on Friday, November 5 at 6 pm while #1 Salem State will entertain the winner of Mass. Maritime/MCLA in the semifinals on Friday.
The two semifinal winners will then meet on Sunday, November 7 at the highest remaining seed for the MASCAC Tournament title and a spot in the NCAA Tournament.
Earning a first round bye and the top seed is Salem State. The Vikings finished the MASCAC regular season with a perfect 7-0 mark to earn MASCAC Regular Season Champion honors. In his first year with the team, Kendy Prince ended the regular season first in goals with 17, including six game-winners and total points with 38. The Vikings defense was solid during MASCAC play not allowing a single goal with goalie Matt Hauntsman registering seven shutouts this season with a 1.02 GAA and .820 save percentage.
With the other first round bye in the second spot is Framingham State. The Rams had a 6-1 record in conference action. Kunphel Sinha led the way for the Rams, scoring four goals and adding four assists for 12 points this season, which is the fifth-most at the end of the regular season.
Hosting a quarterfinal, Bridgewater State claims the third seed after finishing with a 5-2 mark in MASCAC play. Robson Montrand found the back of the net for the Bears seven times this season and added an assist for 15 points. His goals scored and total points are the second-most at the end of the regular season schedule.
Grabbing the fourth seed and final hosting spot for the quarterfinals is Massachusetts Maritime. The Buccaneers were 3-5 in the MASCAC at the end of the regular season. Leading the way for the Bucs is McNeil Somers who closed out the regular season with five goals for 10 points, including two game-winners. His five goals were the third-highest in the league this year.
Rounding out this year's tournament field is MCLA and Worcester State with the fifth and sixth seed, respectively. Both teams finished with two wins during the conference slate. In his first year with the Trailblazers, Cola Bean found the back of the net five times while assisting on one for 11 points. For the Lancers, Santino Romeo netted five goals, including a game-winner this season.
During the last MASCAC Tournament in 2019, top seed Framingham State claimed the tournament crown with a 1-0 victory over Salem State.
