Framingham State Claims Top Seed in 2019 MASCAC Men's Soccer Tournament
For the second straight year, Framingham State will be the top seed going into the MASCAC Men's Soccer Tournament which begins on Tuesday, November 5 with the quarterfinals round.

The quarterfinals begin on Tuesday with #4 Worcester State hosting #5 Westfield State at 4 pm. At 7 pm, #3 Fitchburg State will play #6 Bridgewater State in Fitchburg. The winner of each game will move on to the semifinals.
The winner of Worcester State and Westfield State will play #1 Framingham State while the winner of Fitchburg State and Bridgewater State faces off with #2 Salem State both at 4 pm. (Due to potential weather, the semifinal game date/time may change).
The victor of each semifinal game will then meet on Sunday at the highest remaining seed to determine the MASCAC Tournament Champion and the team that will punch their automatic ticket to the NCAA Tournament.
Earning the top seed and first round bye, the Rams closed out the regular season with a 6-0-1 record in the MASCAC for a share of the regular season title. Reigning MASCAC Player of the Year Bryce Nardizzi continued his success this season, netting eight goals and six assists for 22 points while two of his goals were game-winners. In goal, Corey Davidge finished the regular season with seven wins, a 1.06 GAA, .824 save percentage with 56 saves.
Taking home the other first round bye in the second spot is Salem State. The Vikings were also 6-0-1 for the other share of the regular season title. In his first year with the team, Nicholas Ramos scored nine goals which is the second-most in the conference, including four game-winners. Between the pipes for the Vikings, Chris Jimenez ended the regular season first in the MASCAC in GAA (0.97) and save percentage (.828) while collecting seven wins.
Getting the third seed and the chance to host a quarterfinal is Fitchburg State. The Falcons were 3-3-1 during the league slate. Freshman Alexander Loyd closed out the regular season atop the conference in goals with 11 while also assisting on two for 24 points. His five game-winning goals were also first in the conference.
Hosting the other quarterfinal game is Worcester State with the fourth seed. The Lancers had three wins during the conference campaign this season. Henri Guilmette netted 102 saves and eight wins to finish the regular season first in the conference while also tallying a .803 save percentage and 1.35 GAA.
Rounding out the tournament field is Westfield State and Bridgewater State as the fifth and sixth seed. The Owls and Bears both ended the MASCAC season with a 3-4 record. Leading Westfield State is Ryan Morais who netted three goals with two assists for eight points, including two game-winners. For Bridgewater State, Justin Borges finished the regular season with most points on the team with 12 on five goals and two assists.
During last season's MASCAC Championship, second seed Bridgewater State defeated top seed Framingham State 5-3 to advance to the NCAA Tournament.
