Fitchburg State Men's Soccer Draws Amherst in Opening Round of NCAA Tournament
The NCAA announced the bracket for the 2014 DIII Men's Soccer Championship and Fitchburg State will take on Amherst College on Saturday, Nov. 15 at St. Lawrence University (Canton, N.Y.) in the opening round.

FITCHBURG, Mass. – The NCAA announced the bracket for the 2014 DIII Men's Soccer Championship and Fitchburg State will take on Amherst College on Saturday, Nov. 15 at St. Lawrence University (Canton, N.Y.) in the opening round.
#19 Amherst received an at-large bid after falling in the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) on Sunday to Bowdoin in penalty kicks. The Lord Jeff's come into the contest with a 13-1-4 record, qualifying for the NCAA tournament for the ninth consecutive season.
Fitchburg State defeated Bridgewater State, 1-0 on Sunday in the Massachusetts State Collegiate Conference (MASCAC) to receive the automatic qualifier from the conference. The Falcons recorded an 11-10 record on the year, and will be making its third trip to the NCAA tournament (1987-1988) in program history.
