Salem State’s Greatorex Voted MASCAC Men’s Ice Hockey Player of the Year, Anna Maria’s Raposo Named Defensive Player of the Year, Headline 2024-25 MASCAC All-Conference Team
Landyn Greatorex of Salem State and Derek Raposo of Anna Maria have been voted as the 2024-25 MASCAC Men’s Ice Hockey Player and Defensive Player of the Year and headline this year’s All-Conference teams as voted on by the coaches from around the conference prior to the conference tournament.

WESTFIELD, Mass. -- Landyn Greatorex of Salem State and Derek Raposo of Anna Maria have been voted as the 2024-25 MASCAC Men’s Ice Hockey Player and Defensive Player of the Year and headline this year’s All-Conference teams as voted on by the coaches from around the conference prior to the conference tournament.
Greatorex, a junior forward from Reading, Mass., was dominate for the Vikings this season who finished 14-4 to tie for second at the end of the regular season. Greatorex was atop the MASCAC in points and fourth in the NCAA with 41 while collecting the second-most goals at 16 and assists at 25. He was solid on the power play, netting six goals while collecting a +20 rating. His best showing of the season came in the win over Anna Maria where tallied a hat trick with two assists for five points. He recorded points in 22-of-26 games this season, finishing the year with a 1.58 points per game average, which was top-10 in the NCAA.
In their first season in the MASCAC, Derek Raposo was voted the MASCAC Defensive Player of the Year after the AMCATS also were 14-4 in conference play. Over his 22 games started, the senior from Hannon, Ontario registered a +16 rating with a league-leading 26 assists plus five goals, including one game-winner. Eight times this season, he assisted on two or more goals, including most-recently the win over Worcester State where he finished with three helpers.
Earning the 2024-25 MASCAC Rookie of the Year honors is James Tatro of Salem State. The freshman forward from Salisbury, Mass., was in the top five of the MASCAC in several categories, including goals with 15, assists at 18, points at 33, power play goals with five and game-winning goals at five. In his first season with the team, he tallied three points in five games with the most recent coming in the victory over UMass Dartmouth where he netted a goal with two assists.
After guiding the Vikings to their best conference record since 2015-16 in his second year at the helm, Chris MacInnis of Salem State was voted the 2024-25 BSN Sports Coach of the Year by his peers.
Joining Greatorex and Raposo on the MASCAC All-Conference First Team are Will Redick of Plymouth State and Tyler Stewart of UMass Dartmouth at forward, Rider McCallum of Plymouth State on defense and Will Nepveu of Salem State in goal.
Landing on the MASCAC Second Team is Matthew Gilbert of Anna Maria, Ethan Stuckless of Plymouth State and Keagan O’Donoghue of Salem State at forward, Jack Johansen of Fitchburg State and Severi Sulonen of Plymouth State on defense and Mathew Gover of MCLA in goal.
