MASCAC Men's Ice Hockey Weekly Awards 2/12
UMass Dartmouth duo of Michael Perrone and Collin Patterson along with MCLA's Mathew Gover take home the MASCAC Men's Ice Hockey Player, Rookie and Goalie of the Week after leading their teams to a 2-0 week in league play.

Perrone lifted the Corsairs to a 2-0 week, scoring a team-high four goals (two which were game-winners) with two assists for six points. He opened the week with a two-goal, one assist effort in a 5-3 win at Worcester State. One of his goals was the game-winner, while the other was an empty netter. He was also an impressive +4 with five shots. In a 5-2 win over Salem State to close out the week, Perrone scored back-to-back goals in the first period, including the game-winner and a power play marker. He was a +2 with another five shots, leading to an impressive +6 for the week with 10 shots. |

Gover went 2-0 between the pipes this week with a 1.00 GAA and a .968 save percentage in a pair of league wins for MCLA. The freshman goaltender made 40 saves in a 3-1 win at Salem State on Thursday and turned away 21 Owl shots in another 3-1 decision against Westfield State. |
Rookie of the Week |
Patterson had another phenomenal week, recording two goals with a team-high four assists for six points, going +6 with 10 shots for the Corsairs, helping the squad post a critical 2-0 mark in conference play. In a 5-3 win at Worcester State, he scored the third goal of the contest to put UMass up 3-2, also assisting on the team’s second goal and the empty-netter to seal the victory. He was an impressive +4 with seven shots on the night. Patterson then tallied the first goal of the game in a 5-2 win over Salem State. He added back-to-back assists on Michael Perrone’s goals, including the game-winner, finishing as a +2 on the night with three shots. |
